The cello ensemble consisting of Marek and his students at APU has visited a retirement center to bring Christmas music. The program included such familiar tunes as “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” as well as holiday-themed beloved pieces, such as Fantasia from “The Nutcracker Suite” by Tchaikovsky.
While Marek always likes to share music with those who could not usually come to concert halls, he hopes that community engagement would become a signature element of music making in his cello studio. The residents of the center enjoyed the performance by eight cellists that night that they already invited them to come back soon next year!
