Marek is excited to serve in a new capacity as Assistant Professor at Azusa Pacific University’s School of Music, from this fall, where he has been teaching cello and serving as Director of Chamber Music.

His students at APU won top prizes at numerous international and national competitions, including International Cello Competition in Chile and the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, among others. Annually, they participate in Bach Week, a series of collaborative recitals with violin students from renowned violinist Midori’s studio at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, featuring Bach’s solo violin and cello pieces.

In the 2016-2017 season, two of his cello students will be featured as soloists to perform with the APU Symphony Orchestra, as a result of winning the concerto competition on campus.
